You connect Yahoo Mail with an app password. Your regular Yahoo password does not work here.
Step by step
- Open your account security at Yahoo: open Yahoo account security.
- Under External connections, choose Create app password, type a name you recognise and click Generate password.
- Copy the code.
- Open your profile, Email tab, click Connect account, enter your Yahoo address and paste the code.
Can't create an app password? Yahoo only allows it in a browser you have been signed in to for a few days, not in a private window. Try again later in your regular browser.
A Yahoo app password stays valid when you change your regular password. To revoke it, delete it under External connections.
