A project type determines what each new project starts with. You find them under Projects, the Project types tab.
Setting up
- Code prefix: FILM gives FILM-2026-001.
- Parts: turn on what this kind of project needs: phases, standard tasks, hours, hours budget, start and deadline. What is off, you don't see in the project either.
- Phases: the steps in order. A project goes through them one by one.
- Standard tasks: each new project starts with these. For each task you choose the phase and after how many days it must be done.
The folder template
- In Files, create a folder with the folders and documents a project should start with. A task board in it becomes the project's board.
- Right-click the folder and choose Save as folder setup.
- Link it on the Folder templates tab of the project type.
If you change the folder template later, a running project shows it on the Folder template tab, and you add what is new there.
